Anyone have a tree swing?

We have the perfect tree in our backyard and want to hang a swing from it for DD. Anyone have one they've bought (not home made)? I was thinking of buying something like this and somehow hooking over the tree branch. Ideas? TIA!

STEP 2 SWING

LITTLE TIKES SWING

Re: Anyone have a tree swing?

  • We have the little tikes swing and have it on our tree. DH bought chain (2 seperate ones), wrapped the chain around the tree branch, and then we just connect the swing to the chain.

  • Yes but for the life of me I can't tell you how it is hooked around the tree.  We have a little tikes (but it is an older model that I found at a garage sale) one.  I know that it has hooks on the end but I don't know how my husband hooked it up but it was really easy.  It might just be hooked around the tree branch (not a large tree but it works for us now - maybe not when she gets bigger).  I don't think I was much help.
  • We have the little tikes swing. We did the same thing as pp...use chains over the tree branch and then you can add the swing to the chains. The straps are hard to adjust, other than that I like the swing.
  • Yeah, we have the Step 2. You can use it on a tree branch. I'm still trying to figure out how and where I want to hang ours. They are on clearance at Target right now. I think it was $19 instead of $24.

LOL! Yes you all were, thanks!

  • We have a FP swing that's almost exactly like the Little Tikes one (we actually went to the store to get the LT one on sale and decided on the FP).

The branch of our tree is very large and almost completely horizontal. At first we put an extension rope up around the tree (the swing comes with ropes with S hooks on the ends). But we didn't like that so dh got some large screws with circular ends and put them into the tree, then hung chains from those that fit the S hooks.
