Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Do you get offended when...

people think your LO is the opposite sex?  I've had some people think my baby girl is a boy but it really doesn't bother me.  I know some people get all worked up about it.  I think my DD could wear blue & still look like a girl. :)

I just got thinking of this because my cousin cut her baby's beautiful golden curls because her hubby was terrified people may mistake him for a girl.

  • LOL, I kind of do.

DS dresses very manly, I don't get it.

  • Loading the player...
  • No because he's OBVIOUSLY boy-ish, and people who think he's a girl are dumb.  :)
  • I do, but only when she's dressed in all pink and has a bow in her hair. People are so dumb sometimes...
  • I don't care one bit.  I have a unisex car seat, mostly blue blankets and I dress her in blue sometimes so I can see why people would do that.  I just like blue better than pink.

  • I only get offended when she is totally decked out in girl stuff, you know - pink/purple clothes, blankets etc. Which this has happened about 2 times now, she had a pink dress on, with a pink blanket, a pink toy on her car seat and someone said what a cut little boy.

  • Not really. I did get annoyed once when some random woman in BRU thought DD was a boy. I don't know where she got that idea from. It was so obvious that she was a she. That day she was wearing a red and white polka dot onesie with a flower on the front and a pair of jeans with the matching flower at the bottom of her pants leg. Did I mention the white head band? That woman was a weirdo.

  • Funny you should ask this...  My DH just sent out an email to some of his clients with a pic of LO that said "I can't believe Ryan is almost 5 months already."  Well one of his clients wrote back and said "Dude, you need to start picking out your son's clothes.  No more pastels!".  Ryan is a girl.  I guess I'm gonna have to get used to it!
  • It annoys me a little, but I can't really complain when I dress her in all blue sometimes.  Now if she's in pink and they think she's a boy, then that's just stupid!

  • Kind of, especially when it's clear she's a girl (pink outfit, pink blanket, etc).

  • I honestly could care less. I actually don't think DD is particularly feminine looking just yet. So if she's in an outfit that could go either way I pretty much expect to confuse people!!

  • This would happen to my friend constantly, despite the pink stroller, outfit, blankets, etc., She decided to pierce her 3 mo. old daughter's ears to see if that worked and nope. It still happens.
