Sitter dilema

ok, I have an awesome sister that helps to watch DS when I need her to. Because she has 3 kids of her own, she always wants to watch him at her house because she can also get stuff done. I totally understand this.

My niece is 13 and I have hired her to wath DS tomorrow. I typically don't pay my sister, but my niece wants the experience and I think she is ready as well. Because i am working, i will pay.

Well, DS doesn't sleep well and since I will be gone all day my niece will need to put him down for a nap. I requested that she do this at my house since he does better with his own crib, no noise etc. Well, my sister wrote back and said that he will be find at their house and not to worry.

Should I just let it lie or insist that he be at home?

Re: Sitter dilema

  • If your paying her I would see if she would come to your house. Do you live close enough to your sister that her daughter and your DS can be at home for just the nap then come back her house?

  • Yes, and that is what i suggested, just to come for the nap.
  • My guess is that mom doesn't want to leave to have to take your DS back to your house for a nap.  As usual she wants to get stuff done and while your niece is officially watching your DS, she knows that she needs to be there as well at least the first few times.  Perhaps they can agree to keep it a little quieter for DS during nap time?  Since it is family and it is your sisters house where he is normally watched I would let it go.
