Sorry to bug you, but I have a couple more nanny questions for you.
Does the nanny do anything besides watch the kids? Like clean, laundry, cook, etc. Is that written into the contract?
You mentioned needing a contract. Is that something you did yourself or did you find a template somewhere? I'm not even sure where to start with that.
And lastly, how did you figure out how much to pay her? Is it hourly/weekly?
Thanks!
Re: **DandR**
kids and laundry...as well as clean up anything she/the kids mess up during the day..so she cleans up the lunch mess and snack messes and has the kids clean up their toys.
contract we wrote ourself, but I looked at a bunch of templates I googled and combined the parts I wanted. We let nanny review and add/discuss whatever...then we all signed it.
pay--we discussed this with the nanny...we do full time, monthly salary and pay for her holidays and vacation. She gets paid on my pay days which are twice a month (or the next day she works if it falls on a weekend) It just made sense because if we were in a daycare, we'd pay even if we were off work (and we still get paid for our time off)...and it makes her happy too. we did what was fair for the area and for her experience.
