Since when did 30 become over the hill?

It's my 30th birthday tomorrow- aaaack! My coworkers decorated my office today in "over the hill" stuff and it does say 30 on it!  I didn't think they even started that until 40

When I told my hubs he said the same thing-  "I didn't think it was over the hill until 40."  I gotta love him just for that!

Weird.  40 is over the hill - not 30.

30 is the new 21   and every year after.

I guess it's supposed to be ironic - as in "haha you're not old but we're going to call you old anyway!"

I will be 33 in 2 months.  I don't even count 40 as being old anymore (since my DH is 40)

I would have to resist the urge to punch someone in the face if they put "30--Over the Hill" decor in my office.

Crap.  If 30 is over the hill, then I'm under the dang thing.  BTW, my 30's were my favorite decade. Seriously.  I finally had enough money and maturity to really enjoy myself.

Me too!! My DH is 41 and I didn't do that crap to him!  We went on a trip for his 40th.

I am going to go with the thought that it is just being ironic.  In my mind you're not old until you hit 90!

ETA:- yes I'm kinda excited to be done with my 20s! Definitely a new phase in my life and being a momma has a lot to do with that I think.

But I'm in my skinny jeans today, and it's a "good butt" day so this over the hille post ain't gonna get me down.

I am 31 and have LOVED my 30s so far.  Best years of my life.  I hated my 20s.  I had a lot of fun, but man I was stupid.  I can only imagine that my 40s will be that much better than my 30s.  Plus my mom is 55 and is still HOT so I am looking forward to aging

Heck- I dont' even consider 40 over the hill anymore!  30 is the new 20, 40 is the new 30, etc.
