STTN - but freaked me out! PIP

So, DD slept through the night last night (yay!) but when DH's alarm went off this morning, I rolled over to look at the monitor and saw her completely sideways in her crib - not a big deal because I know that eventually she'll be all over the place - with one of her arms jammed through her swaddle!  As a result, all of the fabric of the swaddle was gathered up all around her little face!    Thank goodness it was snug enough that it didn't go all the way up over her face, but sheesh!  She's a little mover and shaker!

Do you think this means she wants an arm out?  Hopefully, at a minimum, it will be easy to wean her from the swaddle if she doesn't care that she's got an arm hanging out already!

  • DD busts out of her swaddle all the time!  She needs at the beginning of the night to help her fall asleep, but she's never swaddled for naps.

Actually when she woke up last night, I think if she could've gotten her thumb in her mouth, she wouldn't have needed me.

  • Congrats on the STTN! M used to wiggle an arm out of the swaddle - I think it was because the swaddle wasn't tight enough.Ofcourse when she would get really PO, she would break her feet loose, too.
  • I have to swaddle DS with his arms out. He freaks otherwise. DD was the same way.
  • My DD does the same thing and  has for a while.

  • My DS hates to be swaddled at first, but it's the only way he can fall asleep and stay asleep (especially to STTN).  His arms would keep waking him up otherwise.  You can always try one arm out for one night and then try the other the next to see what happens. Could you try the extra small SwaddleMe?  Not sure how small that one is compared the small, but I know they make them.
