DD had to go to ER for stiches tonight. :(

DD was having a sleepover at inlaws house when she fell on their stone fireplace.  I had to meet them at the hospital where they gave her four stitches. 

It was heartbreaking to hear her cry while she was restrained in the papoose.  MIL and FIL feel horrible and DD has a horrible laceration on the back of her head. 

I wish I could put a bike helmet on her until she turns 18.

Oh how scary, I feel so bad for your DD. That is one of my worst nightmares. I did it at 4, and I remember it very clearly. I agree with the helmet, maybe we can make it fashionable

I did the same thing at 2 and still have a tiny scar from  the middle of my brow to the end of my brow.

Ouch! I cracked my head open on my parents' fireplace when I was 4. I had a babydoll cradle that my brother (who was 2) and I were taking turns standing in and rocking back and forth. It slipped out from under me and my head hit the edge of the brick fireplace. I still remember being taken to the emergency room, them wrapping me up in a blanket and stitching me up. I needed 7 stitches.

I hope she heals quickly! I think most of us will be in your shoes at some point, unfortunately.

agh. poor sydney. that must have been terrible for you. i can't imagine hearing baby cry like that. hope shes feeling better today.
