Can I do a FF Thursday Confession??? NFT

Re: Can I do a FF Thursday Confession??? NFT

  • Me too, since I won't be here tomorrow--

This morning DS woke up around 7:30. I was way too tired. So I let him chatter in his crib till almost 9.

  • Sure! Why not???

DH was on duty to put DS to bed tonight but left for his nightly jog before DS was asleep so I had to go back in there, finish his bottle, and rock him another 20 minutes. This made me mad, so I had a bowl of ice cream before DH got back and didn't tell him it was in the freezer.

Which, really is just making me fatter and keeping him in better shape, but it made me feel better, anyway.

  • Here goes...

Anytime I see a post from someone with a baby 3 months or less that is complaining about LO sleeping poorly(one night) because they usually STTN I want to scream!

If your LO is seriously STTN (not just 5-7 hours) and they get up 1 time deal with it! Count your lucky stars and don't complain or freak out about it!

Seriously! Each time your baby STTN you should be thankful and hope it happens again, not start to expect it.

  • Are we allowed to join in the flame free confessing? ?

I can't stand it when people call babies who rarely cry and who sleep a lot "good." ?It implies that my baby, who cries and screams when he wants or needs something and who fights sleep like nothing else is "bad." ?And I do not have a bad baby; I have a wonderful Son who is just very good at letting us know his needs.?

Oh no, I'm quilty of this! I never thought of it like that! I will definitely rethink the way I word it when people ask about O. He is definitely a sweet and mellow baby, but we have had crazy issues with eating/ reflux and multiple protein intolerance. I think that all babies have issues some people just don't share them openly.

Oh, thank you :) ?That is sweet of you. ?I do hope your son's reflux and eating issues get worked out. ?Those are never fun to deal with. ?And by the way, he has such an adorable smile :)?

Yes  I would give my right boob for my LO to only get up once during the night!! No flames here!

I second this. Several girlfriends say they can't believe how "well-adjusted" and how happy I am. They keep saying they were messes for months after their LOs were born bc of the no sleep thing. Granted, J has never been an up all night kind of kid, but do people go into this thinking they're going to be getting sleep? I had the expectation that my kid would party all night and any sleep I got from 11p-7a was a bonus.

I'm also in the crowd that hates when ppl ask if he's a "good" baby. Of course he's a great baby - he's my kid! He's actually a very laid back little boy, but I get so tired of that question bc it is inevitably followed up by "is he STTN yet?" These questions started when he was only a few weeks old. And when I say no, he's usually up 2x a night to feed, I get a sympathy look. HELLO? He's EBF, he wakes up to eat, and falls back asleep. He's 3 months old people and 3 month olds, esp those who are BF babies, often need to eat overnight.
