  • Uh-oh. What happened?
  • So, to make a long story short...or maybe just not as long as it could be, because I have the gift of babble (lol, case-in-point)....

lady bar customer is under the impression that man bar customer is buying her second glass of wine (unbeknownst to bartender AND man bar customer).  She gets charged for and pays for both glasses without a word). Proceeds to get home and drunk-call me to SCREAM at me that he's a cheapskate who thinks he was going to get lucky and she'll never be back to our restaurant again!!  Followed by MORE SCREAMING....my apologizing and telling her that I'll take care of the tab (although, NOT our fault whatsoever - but I don't say that).  She hangs up on me.

2 minutes later - she calls back and proceeds to SCREAM at me more, I start apologizing....(once again, for what?  I have no idea, but I'm kissing a$$.)  Hangs up in me again.

10 minutes later - she calls back and SCREAMS at me more, I tell her, while she's screaming (so I'm sure she couldn't hear me) that I would not be spoken to that way.....and I hang up on her.

She calls back for the 4th time, and SCREAMS at me, "TABC has your number!" and hangs up on me yet again.

Um, what the eff is the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission going to do about this?  Nothing, you crazy drunk lady.  (PS, we think she musta popped pills in the bathroom or was drinking beforehand and it hit her after she left.....because she was normal and appeared sober at the restaurant)

Sigh.....my blood was boiling and my heart racing.  Called my boss to give him the head's up, in case I get a complaint tomorrow.....he's got my back.

Yes, that was the short version.  LOL

Holy crap, I thought retail management was crazy.  You are a saint, and an excellent manager - I think by the 3rd call I would have gotten myself fired.  Yowza.

Wow good for you for not cursing her out!  Once my blood is boiling there is no telling what will come out of my mouth.  LOL

  • What an idiot. Hopefully, she will sober up and realize what a douch she was being.
  • Holy OMgoodness, what a freak!

And she had to have either been on something, drank beforehand, or slammed a bottle on the way home.

I know some people are lightweights, but I have never seen someone that beligerent after only two glasses of wine. Also, she sounds like a barfly and that usually means a regular drinker.

I was a cocktail waitress at Billy Bob's in my younger days for about two years, so I can sympathize. You handled that like a champ. And unless you were selling her more than two drinks at a time, she can report you to TABC all day and they won't give a tiny rat's ass.

Whoops! Mine got long too ;-P

  • Oh my goodness.  I've been there, having waitressed for a long time.  I hate when people blame you for stupid stuff.
  • This is why I don't have a job where I have to deal with people.  I would have easily lost my job after losing my temper and ripping her a new one.  You're a much better person than I am for sure!  Sorry you had to deal with that crazy woman.
  • You are way too nice. People suck.

This reminds me that we need to use our gift certificate...I'll remind DH since our anniversary is next week!

  • y-ow! what a crazy b!tch!!  I give you credit for handling it the way you did.  Good idea to give the boss the heads up.  You need a drink after that
