    Yeah, no.

  • 20/20 did a whole thing on this when I was in my 2nd or 3rd trimester, it was called "extreme parenting" and this was one of the topics. completely gross i think.

I think so too. I think its a bit sick to try and turn childbirth into a sexual experience. I don't even get how that would be possible. Either way, gross.

yea, DH and I were both completely skeeved out!

  • If you read Ima May's guide to childbirth it's not that crazy. And I don't think it's sexual if you consider all the hormones going through your body at the time.

While childbirth isn't something I'd want to go through every day, it was not nearly as painful and a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. It was 100 percent easier than the 9 months of pregnancy.

Agree!  And, people who say giving "birth wasn't so bad" I believe have just forgotten how bad it was.  You can do all the mind relaxation exercises on earth, and pain is still pain.

  • It doesn't skeeve me out. When you consider the hormones and muscle contractions going on, it's not that far-fetched. My birthing experience wasn't "excruciating" in the least, though it wasn't pleasurable either. I think it's all a matter of expectations and perceptions. ?If you go in expecting "the worst pain of your life," that's what you'll get. ?There is such a thing as tricking your brain into feeling sensations differently. ?If you open your mind and expect a positive experience, who knows??

While I'm all for an enjoyable birth experience (believe me I wish mine would have been better), the thought of an orgasm whether it be sexual or not during labor grosses me out. JMO.. no offense to you or anyone that might be open to this, but it just freaks me out. NMS I guess.

I am however curious as to how that would even work. I was in so much pain while I was in labor. I just don't get how it would even be possible! Maybe out of curiosity I'll do a little reading.

    Yes

I tell everyone labor was the best part of my pregnancy. No, I wouldn't want to do it every day, but it wasn't the horrible experience everyone told me to expect. To be completely honest, I loved labor and can't wait to do it again!

LOL not so much, but I can understand why you'd say that. Labor really wasn't terrible for me. I really DID enjoy it. Not every moment of it, I'm not BSC!

I wish I could say that! I was in so much pain that I caved and got and epidural about 4 hours after I got to the hospital. The epidural was great at taking away the pain, but I HATED not being able to feel my legs and move around. I was at 4.5 cms when I got it. I made it to 9.5 like 10 hours later and wound up with a csection since she was "sunny side up" and wouldn't fit. Boo =(. I'd love to go for a VBAC next time, but we'll see.

That really stinks! I think all women should have a good birth experience! I feel lucky that I can actually say I liked labor and can't wait to do it again. I bet I get screwed next time. LOL
