QOTW:
Let's talk about our TTC journey.  What has your journey been like?
What are you doing to TTC (besides the obvious! Wink)?  If you are having treatments, tell us a little about what you have been through. Supplements, charts etc....  We can all learn so much from each other!

Don't forget those updates.  Who is in the 2WW?  When are you
planning to test?  O dates?  Post those BFPs here!
Whatever you want to talk about!

I try to catch the updates on the check in posts.  My apologies If I miss anyone.
If I miss your update or your add me request, please post again or PM me.  I am having an insanely busy summer!

  • Me First?!?!?

QOTW: DH has had some great results from Accupuncture. ( and I get the benfits of that Big Smile) No more retrograde ejaculation etc..Anyone interested just page me. I will fill you in in the details.  It has increased sex drive..etc..Everything that was promised to us and he is happier.

Waiting to collect our second SA (non-retrograde..ie not in the urine)..then IUI and you know the rest!

"Onward"--CathyMD Waiting since 07/5/2011 for our forever child! Yep we are adopting!
  • QOTW:  We do IVF to get pregnant.  Well, hopefully; we did it and didn't have a viable pregnancy, so hopefully next time will be different.  We will probably cycle again in Sept/Oct, so I'm taking DHEA and going to start wheatgrass.  Why not, can't hurt.  Some good studies to show they may help egg quality.  I've started exercising and will attempt to lose a few pounds per my RE's recommendation (which is a no brainer anyway)

Update: had my revisit consult.  Deciding which protocal to go w/as my RE is fine w/either.

GL to everyone in the 2ww!  Hope to see lots of BFP's!

  • Update: I was told to test on Monday the 3rd.  Of course I had to test today because that was when I got a bfp with DS, well today was a Big stinkin' fat N!  I just don't feel positive about this at all.

QOTW:  With DS I charted, used OPKs and CBEFM and after my first m/c and another month trying after that we headed to the RE. During my time with him while running tests and waiting for DH to get his SA I had 2 more m/c.  He ordered all the tests and everything came back seemingly normal except that he felt I had inhospitable CM and a tight as nails cervix.  We did an IUI and I got pg on the first shot.

Now for number 2 we didn't wait that long to try on our own.  Just 3 cycles.  I was not doing anything other than using my CBEFM.  Since I seemed to be O late (due to me weaning DS from BF) I didn't want to waste time and we are now currently waiting to hear if my IUI worked on the first shot again.  Most likely not.

  • I'm still technically in the 2ww, even though I tested last night.  Bad girl. Smile

QOTW: We haven't had to do anything so far other than have fun trying.  I have to believe that will be enough, especially since DH pretty much already said we won't do any IUI or IVF if it comes to that.  I'm okay with that.

  • QOTW:  For DD, we charted, used B6 and low dose aspirin, and I used the CBEFM and Mucinex.  I got my BFP just 2 weeks shy of my RE appt.  I have short LPs and only O every other month or so.   This time around I refuse to chart.  I was serial chart stalker with DD and it *almost* drove me over the edge.  We are just having fun right now.  I will bust out the CBEFM in August if no baby by then.  I am not sure when I will cave and chart.  I will be seeing the RE if no BFP by November or December.  No sense in waiting two year for this one.

    Updates:  Waiting to O.  Uggggghhhh!

  • Hi, I'm a newbie-

    J'sLisa-34 CT, TTC since 7/09

We're just getting started with TTC.  I've started temping, taking a multi-vitamin and folic acid.  I'm going to try OPTs next week.

  • My Update: in 2 ww.  Expecting AF to show on Tues, even though we had the timing right I just don't think it happened.  This was the 1st month with the CBEFM, will try a 2nd then I will make the call to my ob/gyn to get the ball rolling.

Send some BFP dust my way please, I would love to have one!!!

Update: IVF attempt #3 was canceled due to early ovulation on CD3! Booo! I have a 2nd opinion appointment at Cornell in August with an RE that is known for his work with DOR. I'm looking to see if he would take a different approach than the MDL protocol that I do now. I'm going to give my body a break and not cycle again until Sept or Oct.

QOTW: My journey has?definitely?been a roller coaster. I've gone from eager and optimistic in the?beginning,?to loosing hope and wondering if I'll ever be a mom. Sorry for being such a Debbie Downer.

What have we done: OPK's, charting, green tea, wheatgrass, Robitussin, Instead Cups, Clomid x5, thyroid meds for hypothyroid, surgery to remove 3 polyps, genetic?counseling-DH and I are both carriers of genetic diseases, 3 IVF attempts-#1 canceled due to poor response and converted to IUI=BFN, #2-2 embies made it to transfer but BFN, #3 canceled due to early O.?

  • Our TTC journey has been bit of an emotional rollercoaster-  from anxious to upset, from nervousness to disappointment and everything in between.  I feel like the Sybil of TTC!  Luckily I have a wonderful husband that has the overwhelming ability to love me no matter what personality traits I exhibit that day (or that hour!)

We haven't done anything more aggressive than taking PNV and charting (which I just started).  We decided that once we hit that one year mark, we would discuss what procedures we would take, if any.

Oh, and I'm 3dpo but don't feel good about this month- timing was a little off.  So, what emotion will I have today... pensive self-doubt? Poor DH...

  • ?What has your journey been like? ?

Well, after about 6 months of trying on our own I started having testing done and then my husband. ?It kills me that they came up with Unexplained Infertility as our diagnosis! ?(not that I want to have an issue) ?3 IUI's, and one IVF cycle under the belt. ?I am in the middle of IVF cycle 2, they think my ER will be on Sunday. ?My husband and I are staying positive and hope for the best. ?It has been filled with all kinds of emotions.?

What are you doing to TTC (besides the obvious!?Wink)?? If you are having treatments, tell us a little about what you have been through. Supplements, charts etc....? We can all learn so much from each other!

Prenatal vitamins forever and this IVF cycle I added Acupuncture and Royal Jelly (suggested by the acupuncturist)

I feel optimistic this month, we will see!?

  • Hi.  We have all our testing back and are waiting to start our first IVF next cycle.  We will have our consult to find out the protocol just before we start.  I will have one more shot at the 'old-fashioned way' next week when I 'O'.

DH's SA came back with flying colors (he is very proud).  My BW came back very bad for AMH (.1), but 'OK' for FSH (10), which I'm curious about.  I have all the immunities, no RH factor, and a 'clear looking' uterus, so any problems will/are due to egg quality it looks like!

    Good luck to everyone!

  • QOTW:
Let's talk about our TTC journey.  What has your journey been like?

Well with our DD I got PG on our very first try!  So I was confident that #2 would be just as easy.  I was wrong.  Seems like I am getting PG but PG isn't stickingSad  I think my eggs are old.  We meet with RE for the first time on Aug. 3rd.  Bummer is AF arrived yesterday so testing will have to wait til my next cycle.

What are you doing to TTC (besides the obvious! Wink)?  If you are having treatments, tell us a little about what you have been through. Supplements, charts etc....  We can all learn so much from each other!

SO far I have only used CBE Digital Ovulation Predictor Kit and it has worked.  I get the smiley and we...well you know...and I have gotten PG. Now meeting with RE to see if we're just too old or what.  I feel in limbo but we know we are very lucky to have our beautiful DDSmile

  • QOTW:

My journey so far has also been an emotional roller coaster. But I feel like I have learned so much about my body along the way!

I am temping, taking PNV, extra B6, drinking green tea, and trying Preseed for the first time this month. I believe the green tea is working though, and so is the B6. So I am very happy about that.

I am currently waiting to O. This is more stressful to me than waiting for AF. I've never even comtemplated POAS because my LP is relatively short, I have no reason to even consider it. I am hoping this is my lucky month (but I think that every month, LOL)

Good luck, ladies and have a great week!

  • I'm a Newbie. I'm 35, from CA and we've been ttc since 11/07.

QOTW: My journey's been stressful as we've been ttc for over a year now and during that time I'd  been going to school for my master's while teaching. I got laid off  from teaching in the spring and along with it I had to say goodbye to my great health benefits. But the up side is now I have more time to commit to ttc and DH has decent ins. so any treatments won't be entirely OOP.

I have been excercising, trying to stay positive, charting, taking my folic acid. We were referred to a RE when my DH's SA showed lower than avg motility. We will be starting #1 IUI in Sept. when we get back from vacation.

  • Update: I am still waiting for my hcg level to get to a 2. This past Monday it was a 7, so I have another stupid blood test to be done on Monday. I am sick and tired of getting poked in the arm with freakin' needles! I am taking my pack of birth control pills, and then we'll be back at TTC again in August. I am feeling more normal (back on my antidepressants) and am not crying so much over the m/c, which is nice. I am nervous about trying again.

    QOTW:
Let's talk about our TTC journey.  What has your journey been like?

I wanted to start TTC earlier than DH was ready. We started almost a year later than our original plan. After 6 months of using OPKs and having well-timed sex, I consulted the OB. We had a SA done on DH, which found slightly low motility. Then I had my tubes checked and all of the bloodwork done. Then I went to the RE and found that I have a "slight ovulatory dysfunction" and ended up taking Femara. That helped me get pregnant in June, but had a miscarriage and D&C on July 8. When we start up again I will be charting on FF again and using the OPKs. The journey has been stressful and has had so many ups and downs. I know that next time there's a BFP, that DH will be going with me to each and every appointment because getting news of a possible m/c alone was absolutely awful. I am constantly amazed by all of the people who just get pregnant so easily. I wish it was all of us!

  • Hi, I'm a newbie, first time post.  TTC #1, and I had my first IUI with donor on 7/29/09 and am now in the dreaded 2ww!  After all my diagnostic tests were completed my RE determined I was anovulatory. My RE put me on Clomid, and they triggered with Ovidrel. I am also on twice daily progesterone supps, and I continue to take Synthroid for my thyroid.  I started fertility acupuncture about a month ago & I think it has really helped me relax, so let's hope it helps me conceive too!  I go back in two weeks (August 12th) for a pregnancy test.  AF scheduled around August 8th so let's hope she doesn't arrive!  Please send some BFP dust my way!!!
    image IAmPregnant Ticker
  • Update:  I got my BFP on July 25th.  We're cautiously optimistic right now.  I don't want to be added to the success stories until we get a little further along.

QOTW:  What are you doing to TTC?

I kept track of my CM and used the CBE Ovulation Predictor.  I was planning to chart if I didn't get pregnant within 6 cycles, and then go see the RE after a total of 8-9 cycles of trying.  I feel blessed that we got a BFP so quickly and hope it sticks.

Good luck to all of you ladies!

  • QOTW: Our journey feels like it has been exactly like a rolloer coaster. At first I was so optimistic, now I just feel like it's two weeks of hope and then 2 weeks of dread. Pretty much the typical for all of us.

Started with the RE about 6 months in, had 4 IUI's, 3 of which were medicated...and now here we are with about 5 days till my Beta to find out if our first IVF worked or not and I'm all over the board, sometimes I fell like it worked and sometimes I fell like it didn't.  Just another few days though and then we'll know.

Used the normal OPK's, CBEFM, pre-seed, PNV's, and this cycle I tried to be diligent about taking my wheatgrass and I did the pineapple core thing.  I also started making DH take a daily vitamin.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Update: Started on clomid and will be doing B2B IUIs this cycle.

Journey:  I started out expecting this to be difficult. I have always had short cycles and thought it might be a problem. Also, I know so many women IRL who had trouble.  I was shocked when I got a BFP our second cycle trying. Even though it didn't stick, I was optimistic and thought well, maybe I was wrong and this won't be difficult.  Apparently, that was just a tease as here I am months later taking fertility drugs.

Doing: CBEFM, temping/charting, wheatgrass, worrying. Now adding clomid, trigger & IUI. Put DH on vitamins after his SA was poor. Also, starting accupuncture this week.

  • It's been a lot longer than I thought it would be.  It has had it's ups and downs. The ups have included learning so much about my body, the 2 positive pg tests, all of you ladies and your support. The downs have been the pg losses, the 2ww, and the waiting for everything is excruciating. I also realized I'm willing to go farther to get a BFP than I thout I was.

I met with the RE for my initial consult and had RPL testing and DH had an SA. See siggy for DX.  I have good eggs FSH was 6 and I had 13 follies on CD 3. I'm taking Folgard, DH is taking as assorment of supplements.

    • L carnitine 2 grams/day, taken as 1 gram = 15 ml twice a day
    • Acetyl L carnitine 1 gram/day, taken as 500 mg twice a day
    • CoEnzyme Q10 200 mg/day taken as 100 mg twice daily
    • Vitamin E 400 IU/day
    • Selenium 200 mcg/day

I'm in the 2ww but really am not hopeful this month because we didn't have very good timing. oh well. Next appt with the RE is 8/7. Hopefully we'll have a plan then.

  • Like everyone else, the journey has had ups & downs....  In January, my GYN told me that I was in premature menopause.... I think it was just the BCP still in my system.  Then got my first AF in March after stopping BCP in October.  Since then have have been ovulating according to my temps.  The emotions are definatley rollercoaster!

Update = 12DPO..... I'm just waiting, waiting.... in suspense, I want to test, but I don't want to..... AF is trying to trick me I think!  We have our first RE appt on Tuesday... If AF doesn't show by Monday night, I'll test Tuesday morning.....  Our timing was great, but I still don't think this could be it.....  I don't know!!

  • I'm here. I'm now 38 & just bought a CBEFM -this is my 2nd cycle using it. I have been charting for almost 1 year after 1 year of "not avoiding". So, I guess you'd say we've been trying for almost 2yrs, but only "really" trying for almost a year. Depending on how you look at it...I just take my PNV and that's about it- I'm pretty boring.
  • Afternoon ladies.

Snow white OPK's, but I finally started to spot so I think AF is coming soon.  I will actually be happy to see her so I have some sort of benchmark to work off of.  I am hoping for a BFP in August or November because according to the Chinese gender predictor calendar which has been right for me three times that is my girl makin month lol.

QOTW: We only have needed temp charting and OPK's for successful baby makin, we agreed beforehand we will go as far as oral medications should need be, we are not covered for anything else insurance wise and we are already blessed with three children, so we need to think of them financially before we break ourselves with trying to have a fourth ya know what I mean?
