Green ear wax, infant q

At DD's 2 month appt yesterday, her pedi asked me if she had gotten anything in her ear.  I said "not to my knowledge, why?"  He told me she had some green ear wax buildup.  I assumed that meant infection...  he said no, nothing to worry about, that it would work its way out. 

I love and trust my pedi, but this seems wrong.  Anyone have any light they can shed?

My DD has always had very dark ear wax, almost brown. Yuck! Our pedi said not to worry
