Babies: 0 - 3 Months

When did you start a bedtime routine?

I am more curious than anything when everyone started.  I am not looking to start one yet, but wanted to know when would be a good time to start it.

We started ours on Monday, just shy of 6 weeks.  Jammies, rocker, song, nurse, swaddle, bed by 9:30 (if he cooperates).  He's been going down drowsy but awake and learning to put himself to sleep, which is nice.  Hope he keeps it up!
    I HAVE CHILDREN.
  • we started later - around 3months, before this he was going to bed around 9-10, now he goes down around 8:30. We start @ 7:30  bath, lotion, dressed, swaddle, book, feed and bed.
  • Tonight!  We did a walk, bath, bottle, story, rock, bed.  I'm not sure I want to give him a bath every night so we might do a wipe with a warm washcloth every other night instead of a full bath.  I'm also trying to get him into some infant massage, so we might try to incorporate that at some point.  His schedule is still all over the place so the time this all happens will vary night to night for now.
  • The only thing we did was bath, bottle, song/book, and swaddle at the same time every night, and we just followed his lead, by 2 months he was going to bed at around 9:30 every night

  • 6 weeks...and going strong ever sinceSmile
  • 5 weeks old. In retrospect, we should have started around 3 or 4 weeks. Our was bath, lotion/pjs, swaddle and bottle. Now that he is older and has days and nights figured out we skip the bath on some nights and we no longer swaddle.
