What should I expect?

I have my next appointment August 17th where I will be 16 weeks 4 days.  They said they are going to take blood for the second part of the testing that goes along with the NT scan which already came out normal, and they also mentioned the "anatomy scan"

Any advice if you've already gone through this appointment?  Any chance I can find out the sex at this point or is it really early?

I didn't get my u/s at the doc that early, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if you can.  At that appt, I did some bloodwork, and the doc measured me and listened to the heartbeat.

Yeah I got the NT scan and everything came back normal.  Really I just did the scan to see the baby on the u/s since my insurance only covers one.  So when it came back normal and they said I had to give blood for the second half I told them I didn't want to bother doing that and my doc said that is just fine.

The scan people don't like to make a guess. Something tells me they have been burned before on that one. I don't know that I would want them to try because it is so difficult to tell at that point.

I had this done at 15 weeks, and they could tell the gender right away, with the internal US.  The gender has been confirmed twice since then, so they were absolutely right.  I don't know if that is typical.  GL!
