TTC after 35

Thoughts as I head to PG after 35

Hi Ladies,
While I will always feel a kinship and check in with this board, but I figure it is probably time to move on to the Pregnant after 35 Board now. I'm almost 14 weeks and am still so very thankful each day that things are progressing normally after a year of TTC and two M/C. While I didn't post much on this Board, I lurked a lot and learned a lot from you all--and appreciated the support when I did post. Please allow me to offer a few observations on what I learned and experienced:
1) If your OB is lame or unresponsive, go right onto the RE. No use fooling around at our ages. The RE ordered a stat HCG, followed me closely, and put me on Progesterone.
2) Advocate for yourself- bring your charts to appts, make sure the doctors know you chart, and ask for tests you think you might need. Be a nudge.
3) Anyone who says "just relax and it happen" is full of BS. The month we conceived, we were 2 weeks away from an HSG and fertility treatments. I could not have been more stressed.

As I always hoped for people to share their personal fertility and success tips, here are a couple from the month we conceived (sorry if TMI):
1) After reading TCOYF, I obsessed about my cervical fluids. But the month we conceived I had the least egg white.
2) We BD every other day (not every day as we had some months) and only 3 times the whole month. Also laid in bed for 1/2 hour after.
3)  I had tried many tactics to aid fertility (grapefruit juice, pomegranate, vitamin B6, etc.) The one thing we added the successful month was I did a frozen wheatgrass shot every night up to ovulation. It is supposed to help with egg quality. I am totally convinced this helped as I had no pre-AF spotting for the first time in over a year that month.

Best wishes to you all, and I hope to see many of you on the pregnant after 35 Board very very soon!
