So we are in the midst of a heat wave in the Pacific Northwest.  It was over a 100 yesterday!  DH took my car to work as it has air conditioner and his doesn't.  I'm a teacher and so I'm not working right now.  But, man, I freaking need a coke icee stat!  We don't have central air in our home as most homes out here don't because it is not supposed to get this hot.  We did get an AC for our bedroom, but it's just not the same as central AC.  So alas, an icee is needed.  I can't drive his car b/c it's stick and I don't know how.  I think he will need to get me one on his way home.

I am sorry. We are in a coldish snap for July around here, but we do not have air.... it is miserable

I think him picking one up on the way home definitely sounds necessary.

I hear ya!!  I grew up in SoCal and am used to triple digit temps, but not without AC.  It is brutal here. Icees are great right now!!

It's crazy how it's over 100 up there in WA! I have family up there and they are dying without AC!  My Uncle called yesterday because he was just driving around in his car with his AC on wasting gas because it was killing him! We laughed at him because just one state below we're use to hitting the triple digits this time of year!

: ) i would love a slurpee today, it's like 106 in southern OR? Ugh I'm glad I work in a cold cold hospital!

There is a post on the Seattle board about how to keep babies cool.  I forwarded to DH and told him that we need to get central air so that we are not having to think about it.  It's bad enough to see my cats pouting at me every day, unwilling to move.  I know people say we don't have that many hot days so it is not worth it, but it seems like it is more and more each year.

He totally walked in the house without one.  After making dinner, as I was sweating, I went and got one myself.  He either better leave me the car tomorrow as it should only be in the 80's or else he better remember to get me one.

DH and I were already talking about how our little girl will just be living with us in our bedroom next summer during these hot days.  We have a pretty good AC for that room.  That is where I've been living all week.  I'm trying to block out how high our electricity bill is going to be as I've been running the darn thing 24/7 instead of just at night for sleeping, which is what we bought the darn thing for.
