Advice on nursery mirror ....

We are not finding out the sex of our little one.  Do you think this mirror is too girly if we end up having a boy?? I want to put this above the double dresser which will also be the changing table.

  • I don't think that mirror is gender specific at all. We are also on team green and doing a neutral nursery and I would totally use something like that. :)

  • I think it's very girly... The bumps on the outside make me think of frills or ruffles.

Maybe just a square or straight edged mirror?

  • I think it depends on the rest of the nursery.

Also (and definitely not meaning to disrespect your choice to use a mirror)...why do people use a mirror over a changing table? Is it just for decoration?? I've seen it in some nursery pictures online and I don't get it. Hmm

  • I don't think it's girly or boyish at all. Plus it looks like it would be rather easy to mask off the mirror part and spray paint it if you ended up not liking it if you have a boy.

I wanted to ask why the mirror was necessary too!!!

We don't have one with Alek- what's the point? Why do you need a mirror> Why is it important?

  • Honestly, there is not a need for the mirror.  I just like to add decorative mirrors when I can.  I think they open up the room and add a little something...

    Thanks for everyones input! :)

  • I saw one nursery with a mirror over the changing table and I swear it looked like a restroom! Although...I think it was that the side of the room the picture was taken of didn't have the crib in it and the way the walls were painted. Still...it had the mirror...then sconces on either side of the mirror. It was very weird. lol

Then this makes sense. Again...I think with the right nursery decoration, it wouldn't be too girly. Yes

Whenever I hear people talking about mirrors over the changing table I always assume it's hung so baby can look at themselves while getting changed (to distract/interest them).  I think I may be off base. Surprise

The mirror does look a bit girly to me.  As someone else mentioned, the scallops look like lace.

  • Eh, I think it's pretty girly. We're team green too and I'd hesitate to throw that in our room. (I have a hard time though, I tend to think a LOT of things look too girly).

  • It does seem pretty feminine.  The wavy edges look like flowers, or lace, to me.
  • Are you talking about the pretty white ruffled mirror down near the bottom of the page? If so then yes. It's way too girly IMO.
