Re: Dumb question- What is RLP?

  • Round ligament pain...usually occurs during the second trimester and is the ligaments stretching due to your growing belly/uterus

  • I don't think this is at all stupid. I think that the bump needs to update their glossary to include more terms used here.

I had no idea what RLP, V-day and NT scans were. I will continue to be dumbfounded and have google as my friend throughout this pregnancy.

  • Yup, that's what RLP is. Big Smile I still get mine sometimes. Mostly when I get up too fast from a sitting down or lying down position. Sometimes even when I cough or sneeze.

Yes, round ligament pain... it varies as to how it feels to different people, how long it lasts, when you feel it, how much it hurts, etc.

For me it was an achey feeling that lasted about a day and a half last weekend. It was a different feeling than menstrual cramps - more like a soreness all over the lower & sides of my belly. Pretty uncomfortable, but not horrendously painful (and I'm sure I'll get it again at some point).
