Consistency of amniotic fluid???

I've been leaking something for the past 4 hours or so....definitely thicker than water, but thinner than any sort of CM i've ever had.  I'm jumping in the shower, and then going to call the Dr.- I'm wondering if maybe my water broke and I'm having a small leak?  What's the consistency like?

It's pretty watery but like you mentioned, a little thicker than water. Even a trickle would wet your pants in a few minutes I'd think. When mine gushed, my pant legs were dripping (nice) so it's thin enough to drip.   lol! Your Ob can run a quick test on it to see what it is.

I had a slow leak before mine actually broke and it was pretty much like water. But I would def. call the doctor and they can have you come in and test to see if it is amniotic fluid. (They use a Q tip like thing and it turns blue if it is amniotic fluid.)

To me it just felt like I was peeing a little here and there...my water didn't burst...more of a dribble.  It looks like clear pee to me...  If you've been leaking the past 4 hours then I would call your Dr...

Do a smell test- if it is slightly sweet smelling, it's probably amniotic fluid.
