Daycare Interview...Steps!

Just got back from a daycare interview and was wondering if it would bother anyone else if you saw the kids playing on the steps and ZERO baby gates on or around the steps? Am I being petty?

DS can go up the steps fine...but he hasn't figured out the going down yet..I just can't help but think the worse!

What age were the kids on the steps?  If they were my son's age, it would bother me, because he can't go down the steps either.  He can go up, but I would never let him do it without supervision.  Was someone watching them?

Depends on what kind of steps you mean.  There's a two step thing that goes up to the wall in the creeper room at DS' day care.  It's carpeted and the steps are not steep.  They love climbing up them.  They're supervised, so I don't worry about them falling.

A little over a year up to around 4-ish I think. The daycare person would glance as she was talking to me and her daughter was there since she's off for the summer..

And these were full blown steps..there were like 4 then a landing then 4 or 5 more..
