set up 2 daycare interviews today!

Woohoo! I feel so accomplished. I'm like way nervous about it and will most likely be posting a "what questions did you ask" post later on, but I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. All of my top choices have no openings at all. I've called maybe10 places and so far only 2 have called me back/had an opening for an infant! So crazy. Anyway, go me!!

I'm dreading starting this. : (  And I live in a very populated area so I know I should really get going on this, but ... I just dont wanna! 

Can I ask if you go with your H or just you alone?

Good luck! We are actually leaving a deposit and signing our contract tomorrow, it feels good to have that big thing checked off the list. I was nervous to go to, but mostly the people did the talking and answered a lot of questions I had. Are you going with a center or home daycare?

Cora - if these are the first centers you are looking at, then I wouldn't worry about questions yet.  I think the first few I saw I was just taking it all in and asking very basic questions about things.  Once you like a place, go back again at a different time and bring your questions then.  At least that's my plan.  In my area all centers have extremely long wait lists.  So we're going to a bunch and then signing up for lists and waiting to see what happens.  It's crazy.

Both my husband and I are going. He often has more questions than I do!! We're going with an in-home daycare. I know they both have their benefits, but frankly we cannot afford to send him to a center and do not qualify for any "help" financially. I think I have a good idea of what to ask, but I need to have a better idea of what I need to make sure I ask the first time around! It just feels good to get the ball rolling with this. It was my one goal for the summer and I only have a few weeks left.

get on this right away!!!  In seattle, waiting lists are anywhere from 6 months to THREE YEARS!  And people with kids in the system have priority which makes it difficult.  The earliest we could find was for February 2010 -- and we signed up in April I think?
