Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone here have 1 chem. preg and then one other m/c?

I had a chemical pregnancy in October (which I consider a m/c even though some doctors do not) and then a missed m/c last week.  I'm currently feeling a little hopeless and have so many questions and thoughts running through my head.  I keep thinking it's something wrong with me.  I'm going to the doctor on the 17th for my post d&e appointment and plan on discussing it then, but also wanted to post on here.

Did this or a similar situation happen to any of you and now everything is just fine?  I'm looking for a little glimmer of hope that it was just plain ol rotten luck.  Thanks.

  • My situation was sort of the opposite.  My first m/c was a missed m/c and my second m/c was a chemical pregnancy.  My OB found that I had low progesterone so I've been on supplements for that which so far has helped.  I hope you're able to get some answers and I'm sorry for your losses.

  • I am so sorry for your loss.  I have not been through exactly what you have been through but hang in there and be positive.  There is always hope!  (((HUGS)))

  • I've had 2 cp's and one mc and am now pregnant again.  I had testing done after the 3rd loss and they found I have a clotting issue.  Some dr's think this creates problems with carrying a pregnancy, other's don't.  I'm currently on extra folic acid, b6, b12.  I also take a baby aspirin a day and progesterone.  This is the farthest I've ever gotten in any of my pregnancies and am keeping my fingers crossed this is a healthy one that sticks!

I know how you feel.  It was so defeating to have all of those losses, especially when my dr felt like the cp's "didn't count" because they were so early and that we should just "keep trying".  I dropped that dr and found someone who was willing to listen to me, run tests, and be proactive about solutions.

Good luck, and hang in there.  I know it's hard.  Be a proponent for yourself.  Don't be afraid to challenge what the dr's say.

  • Does the testing occur before becoming pregnant or after?  I don't know if I am just feeling extra defeated today or am thinking too much, or both, but I keep feeling like it's something that's wrong with me.  I really do not want to go through another loss and am hoping they will help me figure something out.

  • I had a missed m/c at 18 weeks, then my LO, and then a chem pg.  So not exactly the same circumstance, but there is hope to be had.  I am so sorry for your losses.

  • I had a missed m/c then 2 cp's and so far all is well this time around. I hope you get pregnant with a sticky baby soon!
  • I had mine done shortly after my 3rd loss.  I would see if your dr's willing to do it for you.  Some women on here have had it done after their 2nd loss.
  • I had a molar pregnancy last June and then a Chemical Pregnancy in March. We're now 18 weeks 5 days, so I was opposite but things are great right now.  I would aks your doctor what they think. Mine told me I just had bad luck.
