Anyone go for an annual check-up while pg?

I'll admit from the start, I've inherited a little of my mom's OCD. It's been a year for both my physical & ob/gyn exam. Has anyone, or does anyone plan to go for your annual physical and/or annual ob/gyn exam while pg?

BTW: My mother schedules these appointments to the exact week each year. Same w/dental...

In both my pregnancies I had a annual GYN appointment at about week 10 and it was fine, in fact they said "It's been a year since your last annual...so lets do one today"

Dental is fine too, but I prefer to wait until the second trimester.

They will probably do a pap exam during one of your first appts. They do these even if you have recently had your annual. I think it is just routine pregnancy thing. Ask your OB about it at the first appt.

I agree with previous post, mine did too! In fact, after my first loss, I called to sched my annual and was told to wait because they go by the date of the one they do in early pg!

There is no need for a separate GYN exam as pp have mentioned - it's the same exam you'll get in early pg, with STD screening, pap, and manual breast check. I had one done with my first pg, since my first appt fell right around the one year mark from last exam. I'm not due for the next one until next winter around the time I'm due.

I don't really see the need for a regular physical either - bloodwork, blood pressure, weight, etc, are all things that are checked during pg.
