I was wondering if there is a way to naturally stimulate ovulation. Like a step between clomid and letting your body naturally try and do it's job. Any thoughts?
When I google the topic I see things like: vitex, FertilAid, Licorice root, progon b, ect. But I've never heard of anyone using these methods so I was just curious.
I used Vitex and it worked well for me. But some ladies on here don't agree with it. I say it's worth the try since it is a natural herb. Just consult with your Dr before you take it. It isn't to be combined with clomid and other meds. GL!
Your body naturally tries to stimulate ovulation but if it can't do it on its own more than likely their is a hormone problem.
The only way to stimulate it drug free is if your overweight try to loose some weight and live a healthy lifestyle, this might help out. If your not overweight or if you are and want more options, try accupuncture (sp?).
I have heard of Vitex lengthening LP but don't know if its helped anyone stimulate O. As for the other ones, I have never heard of anyone using them.

I used Vitex/Chaste Tea pills this cycle and its the first time in 4 months that I got CH's. Not sure if that caused it or not but it definitely didn't hurt.

i never tried this but i can sort of see the "science" behind it...getting your body into a montly rhythm.
It depends on WHY you're not ovulating (or ovulating late) as to what would be recommended as a natural remedy.
With insulin resistant PCOS, there's diets and exercise programs that work wonders (just ask kit!)
I took vitex and changed my diet for an excess of estrogen.
Some PCOS have success with using soy isoflavones (in a clomid like manner, google it).
Acupuncture has also been known to stimulate ovulation in a variety of cases.
HTH!
