Humidifier in nursery?

Are you getting a humidifier? This is kind of a stupid question but how do you know if you need one or not?

I am going to get one.  Since you can't give a baby cold medicine it is one of the few things you can do to help relieve sinus congestion.

BRU makes the cutest little humidifiers. They have them in the shape of elephants, cows, etc. They are adorable!!!

Where we live (CO) it is always dry, so we'll be using one.  Especially since we'll be having our baby in October and it starts getting really dry around that time.  I think it's a good idea, unless you live somewhere tropical or something and don't need it.

I would suggest getting a little monitor that tells you what the temp. and humidity readings are for a room.  My mom lent me hers when DS was really sick this past winter, and I love it and am hoping that she forgets that I have it!  There is a little scale on it that will tell you what is considered too dry/too humid in the room and what is considered the "comfort zone." (I think that is considered anything between 35-65% humidity)  You can adjust your humidifier use accordingly.

When your LO has a stuffy nose, you will be amazed at what a difference running a humidifier will make.  Our older DD has acute croup attacks (usually in mid-August), so we have one in her room as well.  Not to mention, they make great "white noise" machines.

I registered for the cute little elephant one - Target has them too, that's where I registered for it. I've heard that they are helpful, so figured we'll go ahead and get one.
