Progesterone: When to Start

Hi ladies! I was just wondering if you take/took progesterone if you started taking it immediately after ovulation or waited until you knew you were pregnant??  My doctor said it was up to me.

I didn't chart or anything, so after my doc did my bw for pregnancy he prescribed me the progesterone based on the results.

When I talked to my doctor about it, she was going to have me take it right after ovulation, through a positive test (or stop if it was negative) if I was low. (My levels were fine, so I didn't need it.) I would be inclined to take it after O, but that's just me.

My Dr. didnt even do b/w.. as soon as she confirmed my pg with a urine test she  prescribed it to me 3x a day due to my previous m/c. I was around 4 wks 3 days

I was diagnosed with low progesterone in prior testing on non-pregnant cycles and my doctor said it was important to start it at 3dpo.  I was losing my pregnancies so fast that waiting for a bfp might have been too late.

I started taking it at 3DPO.  It's supposed to help build up the lining for implantation so I think it's worth it to take it after O.

this cycle she had me start the night of the IUI. I didnt stop and found out I was pregnant. it was low and they increase it.
