I am from Maryland and eating steamed crabs is what we do in the summer (usually with a nice cold beer....obviously not gonna happen). I know cooked shellfish is ok but I remember hearing friends say they didn't eat steamed crabs during pregnancy. These are not crab legs...its the whole little red crab ( I realize this is gross to many, sorry). I only ask b/c I am going out to dinner with the inlaws and grandmom tonight specifically to eat crabs (planned before I found out). Not sure what to do. Didn't know if anyone had any insight.
Re: steamed crabs?

I think it's ok, as long as you eat in moderation.
My family is planning a vacation to Maine in September, and I am sooo excited to eat some crab.
