I thought that BFing delayed PP AF...

I am getting my period. Started spotting yesterday evening.  I thought that BFing was supposed to delay AF, or am I just one that is blessed with a very persistant AF?

    Some people get it back sooner. Are you taking any kind of hormonal BC or hormone therapy? That will bring it back, too.

    Sometimes the lochia (pp bleeding/discharge) can stop and the start again. So it's possible that it's that.

    But I had lochia for 8 weeks and then got AF back at 12 weeks and it came back like clockwork. I was nursing around the clock when it came back.

    To add insult to injury, I don't actually ovulate on my own (went through infertility treatments to get pg) so there's no biological purpose to me having a period. Isn't that a nice touch?

    Guess I'm just "lucky".  I'm not on any BC now until the OB gets the IUD cleared through insurance.  But I would like to think that maybe it's the lochia that is mentioned.  We'll see!

    is your baby sleeping through the night, and therefore, not nursing for a long stretch? that could do it...catch 22, if so!
