birth control and bf?

ok, so does it matter if you are going on birth control and are breast feeding? does that limit the kinds you can use? i was looking into depo, but read that i should talk to my dr if bf. ---but are they all that way? of course i am going to talk to my dr, but i am impatient and want an answer sooner! haha!

    Bfing limits your choices of birth control to a progesterone only method.  I think the only method is called the mini pill.  I took it and wound up with ovarian cysts as a side effect, which then caused my milk supply to go down! Next time around, I'm not taking any bc while bfing!

    If I'm correct, Depo is one you can't have while bfing because it will most likely decrease your supply.

    You can use the Mirena IUD while BFing also; that's what I am planning on doing.

    mini pill, Mirena IUD, plain copper IUD, DepoProvera... all okay for EBF. 
    5/08- blighted ovum, spont ab; 2/20/09- epi, VAVD, Girl! breastfed 24mo; 10/10- blighted ovum, spon ab; 12/10- no fetal pole, Cytotec; 11/20/11- unmedicated SVD, Girl! breastfed 18mo; 11/7/13- unmedicated SVD, breastfed 18mo; 2/11/16- unmedicated SVD, exclusively pumping to at least a year.

    I was given Camilla pills for BFing mothers, Ive never heard of them though.
