7 weeks and nurses every two hours

My LO is almost 7 weeks and almost always nurses every two hours maybe 2 and a half. is this normal? I feel like she should be able to go a longer amount of time. She sleeps great at night (from 10p to 330a, then wakes about every three hours) so I cant really complain. THANKS

We go to every 3 hours at about 3 months. Before that it was every 2- 2.5. Sounds normal to me.

When DS started sleeping longer stretches at night, he actually started nursing more frequently. He used to go 3 hrs but ate around the clock. Now he sleeps from about 9pm to 4am, but then nurses every 2-2.5 hrs the rest of the time. I figure he still needs the same amount of milk/same # of feedings so he's just adjusting to get them all in during a shorter number of awake hours in the day.

Your LO sounds just like mine! Even down to the sleeping hours. I think it's totally normal. She'll have some stretches where she goes 3-4 hours during the day, but typically it's about every 2.5 hours.

My son kept nursing every 2 hours clear through 3 months of age. ?It is very normal. ?I know it can seem frustrating and feel like you're not doing anything but feeding him, but eventually he will start spacing things out. ?DS is now 4 months and can now go anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 hours between feedings.

It might be because she is such a good sleeper at night that she is making up for all the missed feedings in that time period during her waking hours. I've heard this is quite common. GL!

DD nurses about every 2 to 2.5 hours during the day then every 2 hours like clockwork at night. Be thankful, very thankful for the long stretch at night! What I would give for that about now!

Completely normal. My 3 1/2 month still nurses every 1 1/2 hours and lately sleeps one 3 hours stretch and then is up every 2 hours. Enjoy the long stretches of sleep!
