Constipated Baby

Is there something I can eat or drink to help my baby poop? He seems constipated because he'll grunt and push and get red. I feel so sorry for him while he is struggling...so just wondering if I could help him in any way. His poop is yellow and seedy and seems healthy, he just seems to have a hard time passing it.

My pedi told me I can held DD go by bringing her knees up to her chest as well as making her legs go in the motion as if she was riding a bike.  My DD does this sometimes as well and doing those motions really do seem to help.

constipation isn't the same thing as not pooping. ?Constipation is when poop is hard to pass because it is more compacted than usual. ?That is why it is so rare in EBF babies - because their poop isn't compacted or dense. ?Being "regular" is what it means to poop on a daily basis. ?It isn't actually necessary for a baby to poop every single day though. ?If your pedi isn't concerned, then I wouldn't be either.

take rectal temp. works REALLY well. too well... I thought my LO was having a reaction (diarrhea) to the rotavirus vaccine, until I laid off taking his temp when it back down from the vaccines...

Honestly it sounds normal and there is no need to force the issue, so to speak!
