40 weeks (3 day) appt tomorrow :(

my doctor told me last week that my scheduled induction date is aug 4...well I cant wait that long! My stomach is burning because she is stretching out my ligaments and im in so much pain...if i complain enough do you think that they will induce me sooner???

    I am sure it can't hurt to try Wink

    I would just explain how uncomfortable you truly are and see what she says. Although, she has probably has heard people saying they just can't wait any longer a million times and might not be sympathetic. The only thing she can do is say no. But then again, you could go into labor on your own before then (if she does say no).

    Hope you get some relief soon.

    Depends on the doc, I guess -- I'm pretty sure mine wouldn't. If you wait it out, there's a decent chance you won't need to be induced at all -- wouldn't you prefer that?

    at this point I would not prefer that! I feel like someone is constantly taking a blow torch to the top of my stomach...it is SOOO painful! plus i have been 2cm 80% for over a month now! So im kinda thinking im not going to progress any further on my own...especially because I have lots and lots of contractions a day...

    I am sorry. :( I would say that it is worth a try. Probably just depends on the doc. Hopefully labor will start on its own very soon.

    It probably would not hurt to ask, but you have made it so far why give in now?  Nobody is pregnant forever... even though it seems like it!  If this is your first is pretty common to be over due and your doctor want to wait on inducing.  I went into labor on my own with my first (a week late) and my second was induced (3 days late)... Let me just say I am not going to get induced if at all possible with this baby, it was so not worth it.  I personally did not have any complications, but when labor is induced it just can cause more complications and induced labors have a higher c-section rate.

    Good luck to you, I hope your LO comes out ASAP!  Trust me... I know your pain, but hang in there either way!
