Pregnant after a Loss

3-Hour glucose = auto-fail

So, I made it about 13 minutes into my 3-hour glucose test before I threw up.  The stuff just did not agree with me!  Because I threw up, I automatically failed the test :(

They're not treating me like I have gestational diabetes yet, since I was so close with my 1-hour and my fasting blood sugar was perfect.  They're checking with my Dr. and letting me know tomorrow.  At least I only had to get one blood draw!

  • I'm sorry! At least they haven't said it's definitely GD.

  • They shouldn't auto fail you for that.  I almost threw up at my test and didn't tell anyone.  I got my results today and I passed every blood draw.  That stuff is so sweet and to drink it on an empty stomach how could someone not want to get sick?

  • I had the same thing happen, and it definitely does not have anything to do with whether or not you have GD.  I did a modified test, where they did a fasting draw, then I left, ate breakfast and came back for another draw exactly 2 hours after finishing breakfast, and those results were perfect, so no gd for me, and believe me I was really really sick after attempting the 3 hour...good luck!

Good to know!  I hope that she has me do something like this.  The nurse said that usually they would just treat me like I had GD, but I'm really hoping they do some other type of test!
