Pregnant after a Loss

My hands fall asleep....

all the time! Usually, it occurs when I am sleeping and I can wake them back up with a few shakes. I have had more prolonged sleepiness but feeling does come back.

Today however, my right hand has tingled since I woke up. I am using it but there is this great tingling sensation.

This never happened before GP so is this a result of increased blood and poor circulation?

Re: My hands fall asleep....

  • I think so but don't know for sure... I've been experiencing this for the past week or two and it's really getting to be a bit bothersome.

  • My girlfriend is 25 weeks pregnant and she had the same problem, so she asked her dr. about it and he diagnosed her with pregnancy induced Carpal Tunnel (sp?).  He recommended she get wrist braces that she wears to bed. She said it's MUCH better and she can actually sleep through the night now. You should ask your dr. about it...

  • I had this all thru my pregnancy with DD. It happened especially at night, like you said. I think it has something to do with the same reason we are at a higher risk for carpal tunnel, tho I'm not sure what it is. :o)

  • I just posted yesterday about my arm/hands falling asleep when I sleep at night now. It's just started in the last few days and doesn't happen every night (didn't last night), but it sucks. I haven't had it last into the day at all, just when I'm asleep on one side and laying on that arm.
