I've never posted on this board before but am wondering if anyone on here could share their experiences with me about their ectopic PGs. How far along were you when you found out? What were your signs? I just got BFP but am now having a sharp pain on my lower left abdomen. Obviously too late to call OB but as it's been going on a few hours now (could be normal, I know) I'm wondering what others' experiences were.
Thanks in advance for any opinions.
Re: Question about ectopic
Thanks popcorn. SO far no spotting, but that's how the m/c back in Nov/Dec., started and the doc told me it could be "normal" and all that, and it ended up being very far from normal. I am getting nervous now b/c the pain hasn't moved or faded at all.
I appreciate your input!
I had an ectopic that ruptured. I found out I was pg around 7w (we weren't officially "trying" yet, and my cycles are usually irregular, so that's why it took awhile to test). I hadn't even seen my OB yet, as they usually don't see patients until between 8 and 10 weeks. At 9w, I started having severe abdominal pain (felt like really, really horrible gas), then bleeding, then shoulder pain- this was over a course of about 24 hours though. I had to have an emergency laproscopy to remove the pregnancy and my left tube.
That said... I had localized pain in my lower left side during this pregnancy- I wasn't worried about ectopic, b/c I knew there was no tube there. U/s revealed that my LO had nestled into my left side, and that could have been what I was feeling. Cramping and sharp, stabby pains that come and go are very normal in early pgcy. The only early "symptoms" I had with my ectopic were that I never got m/s, and I had brown spotting pretty much the entire pgcy (which I didn't bother going to the dr about b/c I knew spotting could be "normal" in early pgcy too- I wish I would have been a little crazier about it!) GL,and HTH!
ETA: Oh, and this early in pgcy, you shouldn't have to worry about rupture- that generally happens between 8-10w, b/c the baby grows too big. So even if it is ectopic, please don't freak yourself out by thinking that your tube is going to rupture tonight- the chances of that happening are slim to none.
First of all, I am so sorry for your scare. I had some spotting with my first pg so went to the on-call doctor where they did an u/s. It was too early to see anything, so they thought I would just miscarry naturally. My OB is very proactive & follows betas down to 0. Well when mine shot up from 200 to 749 they had me come in for another u/s where they found the baby in my tube. I had surgery the next morning. It wasn't so bad physically, the emotional was the worst pain. My doctor was able to save my tube. He recommended waiting one cycle to try again, we waited 2 until I felt emotionally ready. We were successful on our first attempt. So far, things are going great!
I hope you're not going through an ectopic, but if you are please don't give up hope for the future. Keep us posted...(((HUGS)))) GL!
