Need help! Britax Boulevard won't stay secure in my Moms CRV...

Anyone else install a Britax Boulevard in a Honda CRV? No matter where we install it (left side, middle - both RF) it just won't stay put when I wiggle it to check the tightness. The fire stations here don't help with car seats. Any ideas about who we can talk to about safely installing it? Web sites? We're desperate. Thanks for any advise.

  • We went to the police station. I don't have a CRV, but the officer we went to attached the straps under the front seat of my car. and that seat wont budge! Call around to other police stations.

My mom is a NICU nurse and she and  4 other people are inspectors at the hospital. Might want to check there.

  • Excellent! We'll try both. Thanks so much.

  • Are you using latch or the seatbelt? If it's latch, I sit in my dd's seat and pull on the straps. You can also teether it under the front seat.
  • We're using the belt. I'll check for the front seat anchor gizmo and maybe we can teether it. Thanks for the idea.

  • This is interesting...MIL has a new CRV and we had issues installing the Cosco Scenera seat. It did the same thing and wiggled way too much for my liking.

She ended up having a state trooper friend of hers install it (he's also a certified installer and inspector).  They only do installs and inspections on certain days of the week, but he did it for her after hours as a favor. He used a pool noodle and that rubbery shelf liner stuff underneath it.

It's better, but still not as stable as i'd like it. Trooper said it was fine though and would pass inspections, so we left it go. (This seat doesn't have a tether, which I would prefer...)

Did you try the tether? Does your CRV have leather seats? I think MIL's leather seats and the shape of the seats is what the problem is here.

I think the main problem is that her CRV doesn't have anything to tether the seat to. Unless we're just not seeing it. We have an appointment at the Police Station to have them check it out. I think they will probably do what your MIL did with the noodle. It makes me so nervous to have it wiggle so much!
