I have 220 oz of milk in the freezer and DD takes 8-12 oz/day at daycare (so I have anywhere from 18-27 days worth of milk for daycare if I stop pumping now). I'm still pumping 3 times a day at work and most days twice at home (one side before she nurses in the morning and again before I go to bed). DD has just recently dropped from 3 to 2 bottles during her time at daycare and I'm thinking it's probably time to drop to 2 pumping sessions. My goal is to get to 1 year and then transition to cows milk. She's a little over 10 months now. WDYT - drop to 2? Did you notice much of a change in supply when you did that? I don't know why I have such a problem doing this - I LOATHE the pump, lol!
Re: When should I drop to 2 pumps/work day?
I get about 3 oz each at 6:00 and 9:30am, and about 2 oz each at 12:30, 3:30 and before bed. I definitely don't get a lot, but thankfully DD is only taking 12 oz a day at daycare! I just thought it might be nice to "free up" some of my work day - as it is, I pump for 20 minutes at a time, 3 times a day and it does take a lot away from my productivity, as much as I try to work while I pump. I think I'll probably try to stick with 3 for now - can't hurt as long as I can swing it with my schedule.
