NBR - Decision on retro pyrex (help)

My big goal today is to finish re-organizing in this new house. This involves organizing my rather large collection of bowls and serving dishes. (I love bowls and serving dishes - I have a real problem w/ having too many).

So I have been staring at two cool old pyrex bowls for the past two weeks (one canary yellow, one bright red and in perfect 1960's condition). They are sitting on my table. I still can't decide if they stay or go. I am trying to clean stuff out but at the same time these are cool. Do I need them? No. Do I like them? Yes.

What should I do? Storage is tight. I can fit them but the more I keep the harder it is going to be to get stuff in and out of my cabinets.

I don't know why I am having such a hard time making up my mind about such a silly thing.

  • Can you use them for something else? Like maybe decorations? Don't know how you decorate your home but older bowls like that make great decor pieces on kitchen pieces. Like an open cupboard or china cabinet. If not I would not just get rid of them. They may be worth something.

I was thinking this too- can you decorate with them- maybe use them on your kitchen table with stuff in them- Christmas bulbs, potpurri, fruit?  I would not just get rid of them if you like them that much- there has to be something you can do with them.

  • I collect fire king and pyrex, I totally understand how hard it is to part with pieces. If you really are out of storage though I'd pass them along to someone else who will love them and have room for them.
