I ate a healthy breakfast and had my test at noon. I drank my fake soda on ice (not sure if you are supposed to, but you know, it's gross). They made me do my 1 hour twice and I passed both times.
I had mine at 9am and the day before I just didnt eat pasta or ice cream or anything heavy with sugars, then I ate a hashbrown the morning of on the way there and some water.
Bring a snack with you for after, I started to crash not too long after and go so sleepy and felt my sugar dropping way too fast.
I had no clue, I was going to do mine the day they asked if I wanted to because I was 26 weeks. I ate what I normally do the day before, which included a snickers. That morning I had pb toast and a banana. My results were normal. Good luck!

Melissa- when are you getting yours done? Did you make an appt yet? I have my 24 week visit today, so I assume I'll do it at the next 4 week appt. I'm nervous for it!!
1) Eat a high-sugar dessert every day for a few days before the test.
2) Abstain from all sugar (including fruit) the day of the test.
I followed these instructions exactly, but did not fast the day of the test. I took it in the afternoon (drank the drink at 3, was tested at 4). I passed.
I have never heard of anyone else being told to eat a high-sugar dessert for a few days before the test before, but this makes sense to me - you're prepping your body so it doesn't go nuts, just in case you're not used to the sugar. My guess is that it cuts down on "false positives," i.e. people who fail the 1 hour but don't actually have GD.
