Im trying to start making some new favortie dishes as we get sick of the same group of meals over and over. I'm looking for relatively easy meals with out tons of weird ingredients that I dont keep on hand.

Re: need Recipes

  • I LOVE my Taste of Home cookbooks. I also get a ton of recipes from Family Cricle and Parenting magazines.

I meal plan every week and always try to find something diff to cook. Also if something calls for a ton of chopped ingredients...I prep it all on the weekends so its easy to throw together in the evenings.

Oh and I also signed up at Lowes Food, and they send recipes everyday through e-mail. I have found some good stuff through there too. Have fun!

  • I have really let this thing go, but this is where I keep all my favorite recipes so that I can get ideas when I am having a hard time remembering things and just so that I don't forget how to make things that we have tried and liked that I might not make every week.

  • one of our go-to meals is mexican shepherd's pie. all the ingredients except the meat are in the pantry, and henry loves it too.

    1 can rotel tomatoes

    1 can refried beans

    1 cup frozen corn

    1 lb ground turkey breast

    1 package taco seasoning

1 package jiffy corn muffin mix

brown the turkey in a skillet and prepare as indicated on the taco seasoning packet. mix with corn, tomatoes and refried beans. spread in the bottom of a 8x8 glass pan.

prepare the muffin mix according to the directions. spread on top of meat mixture and bake as indicated on the back of the box. yum!

  • Oh and here is one that could hardly be cheaper or easier.  You can tell I grew up in the south though.  Oh well, here it is.

Cubed steaks and gravy with egg noodles.  Just cook the cubed steak with salt and plenty of pepper in a skillet until done, add in a can of cream of mushroom soup.  It should turn brownish from the meat drippings.  Serve over egg noodles.

Thanks!  I'm adding that to my rotation.  This is definitely something I can do : )

  • I feel like I'm whoring my blog out a bit recently (sorry about that!)  But I just started posting some recipes in the last couple of days in an effort to use up a ton of produce and items that were already in my pantry.  None of the ingredients are wacky I assure you.  So far, all of the dishes are healthy and pretty inexpensive to make.  I'll be posting an easy stuffed pepper later today too!
  • I made simple enchiladas last night and it's in the fridge today and I'll just pop it in the oven when I get home.  I cooked the ckn and then rolled it up into tortillas with cheese.  I put enchilada sauce in the pan then put all rolled up tortillas in there and put more enchilada sauce on top and topped off with cheese.  Very simple and easy.  I'll just add some sour cream on top too.
