poop in the tub - how do you clean

How do you clean everything when your kid poops in the tub?  dish soap enough or do I need to use something stronger?  what abotu the toys?

THanks!

Re: poop in the tub - how do you clean

  • I use the Method Enviro-Safe tub cleaner to clean the tub and the rubber bath mat.

I use a vineager/water solution to clean his bath toys. If they're particularly messy or dingy, I let them soak in the solution overnight and then rinse them off in the morning.

With the squishy (terry cloth) bath toys, I just throw them in the wash with the towels.

  • 1. Call dh

    2. Spray, wash and rinse baby

    3. Clean bath tub with cleaning product (what you use is perfect)

    4. Boil (if possible) toys or wash them in super hot water and soap

    5. Tell dh that next time he will give the baby a bath LOL

  • DD hasn't done that *yet*.  If she did, I would wash tub w/ bleach/water, and soak her toys in bleach/water as well.  No fun.
  • Ugh, this happened again last night.  That makes the 3rd time for us and while I know others have had it worse, I still hate it!

I toss her bath toys  into the sink filled w/ hot water and a capful of bleach.  Let them soak.

Then I scrub everything w/ Soft Scrub with Bleach.  After scrubbing and rinsing, I put more hot water into the tub and add another capful or two of bleach.  Get a fresh sponge (throw out the old one!) and wipe everything down again w/ the water in the tub.  Rinse, drain.

Then I rinse the toys that are still soaking in the sink and let them air dry.

I don't know about anyone else but if I don't clean it with bleach then it skeeves me out.  Vinegar is just not enough in my book.  And unless I'm positive that my store-bought tub cleaner is anti-bacteria then that isn't enough for me either.
