How much chocolate is too much?

I can't even remember why they say to eat chocolate sparingly during pregnancy, but how much chocolate is considered too much?

Re: How much chocolate is too much?

  • I haven't heard that before but I'm assuming because of the caffiene???  In which case it would take a lot of chocolate to overdo it.

  • Caffeine is the only reason that I can think of.

  • This is not even worth worrying about. You can have 200 mg of coffee a day. An ounce and a half of chocolate has like 5 mg of caffeine. You'd probably make yourself sick from the sugar before you'd get to 200mg of caffeine from chocolate.

Bro, but look how many ants are on this trash can...

  • I have chocolate espresso cookies in the oven, peanut M&M's in the cupboard and S'More ice cream in the freezer....if I ever reach the level of 'Too Much Chocolate' I'll let you know!
  • in my world, there's no such thing as too much chocolate.
  • It is the caffeine, and it depends on the type of chocolate you're eating how much caffeine it has. I believe baking chocolate has more than chocolate in candy. But, it would still take a lot to get the 400 mg. max that is suggested per day.

  • I wouldn't worry about it at all.  Enjoy your chocolate!
