Feeding Length

DS is 4 days old and my milk really came in today.  Since it has come in, his feeding sessions have become shorter (he feeds for about 15-20 mins whereas he was previously feeding for 20-30 mins). 

He is feeding 8-12 times a day and having the correct number of wet/dirty diapers.  Should I be concerned that he is not feeding for as long or is he feeding more efficiently now that my milk has come in?

 I know every baby is different but I appreciate any similiar experiences.

DD gradually reduced her feeding times as well. When she first started nursing she would eat for 45 min to an hour. Now she is at about 10 min on each side. HTH.

If he's having plenty of wet and dirty dipes and seems satisfied (gets that "drunken sailor" look when he pulls off, he is likely getting enough.  Kiddo was always a pretty efficient eater too as a newborn - consider yourself lucky!

This!  Sounds like he's an efficient eater.  Since your milk just came in, he's satisfied quicker so nursing sessions may be shorter.  Definitely don't worry about it if he's growing / gaining weight and have wet diapers.  My first son nursed for over an hour at a time as a newborn, but this LO nurses for about 20 minutes. Ahhhh.... so much nicer for a busy mama!

Sounds like you are doing great! As long as you are not limiting LO's time at the breast and BF on demand, he should be getting all the milk he needs.
