I have the Black Cedar Fig - it's woodsy and sexy. Sorta man-ish. Not like, "Ew did you bathe in Old Spice?" man-ish, but masculine enough that DH could wear it.
It can leave a bit of a residue but it's a powdery residue, not a sticky residue like traditional deodorants. I'm pretty sure it's the baking soda in it. When you put it on it's very creamy. Then, as it dries, the excess can turn into a powder on your skin. I always wait till it dries and then just sorta dust off my pits to prevent the residue getting on my clothes. Any time any has gotten on my clothing it wipes right off with a damp washrag.
