Regarding your feeding and talking questions;

If you are talking about the breathing tube (ET tube), they will probably place an NG tube through his nose and down his esophagus when they are ready.  I don't think he will be able to make noises unless he blows around the tube, though.  Drake was intubated for almost 2 months before he got his trach so I really don't know how long they will leave your guy intubated.

If you are talking about a trach tube, most people with trachs can eat and some can talk.  I'm not going to assume that this is what your little guy is heading toward so I won't go on.

I know that it is still really early but have they contacted or offered to let you talk to an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist?  I'm not sure how quickly they do this for preemies.

I started out on the preemie board (before they had this one) so hopefully I can get updates from you there, too!  Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions about this.
