I am probably going to use a lady I used to go to church with. If I didn't know her I would probably be asking friends/family to recommend theirs! I want a good doctor and wouldn't want to pick one out of a phonebook!
I sort of have - I got a really good recommendation from a coworker so I'm going to get the Dr.'s number and see what I need to do to get him as my pediatrician. Hopefully it's a painless process!
I have already scheduled a consult with a ped--the same practice I went to over 30 years ago. A friend uses them too and I love that they have sick and well waiting rooms and weekend and holiday hours. I am a little anal about getting things done though....
Most pediatricians in our area will schedule a "meet and greet" appointment for expectant parents. So, you can interview a few doctors and practices and make a better-educated decision!
We have already chosen a pediatrician. He came VERY highly recommended so we scheduled a "prenatal consult" to meet with him and instantly knew he was the right doctor for our son.

?I will probably go with the same doc my friend uses. He is close to home, flexible with vaccination schedules, has a well and sick child separate waiting room and has nurse practitioners who can see my little one same-day for sick appts. Basically everything I am looking for. I plan to interview with him within the next several weeks. He doesn't come to my hospital though so I will have to choose a doc to see the baby at the hospital, I will probably just take one of my OB's recs for that one.
