How to wean LO off shield?

I'm trying to wean DD off, but I'm just unsure how to go about it. She will only take my nipple (without shield) for about 5 minutes at the beginning of the feed, and then she pulls herself off and won't take it back. So I have to put the shield back on to finish feeding her. It's so frustrating...I'm ready to be done with this thing!

It took awhile for my dd about 2 weeks to fully wean herself from it and she was 4 months at the time. One thing that I found helpful was switiching her to the other side until she pulled form that side and then putting her back to the first breast to finish it off. It kept her from getting frustrated when my breasts became softer. With the shield I don't think they experience that since the shield doesn't change as they nurse like your breasts do.  Eventually, she got the hang of it and she'll finish one side before going to the other.
