Radian car seat

Does anyone happen to have three of these in their backseat?  What kind of car do you have?  I'd like to put off getting a new car if possible.  I will have three three and under.   TIA.

Re: Radian car seat

  • I have a Cadillac CTS.  We only have one Radian but are able to fit 3 carseats in the back.  We have a Britax Marathon, a Graco Safeseat and the Radian.  I think 3 Radians will fit in almost any car.

  • Thanks for the reply.  Does the Radian take up more room width-wise, meaning across the seat, when it is installed rear-facing?  I saw on the Sunshine website that a rear-install requires a separate base.

  • It is the same width either way.  The base is just a little part that clips on the back.  DS uses it rear facing now.  I love that carseat and wish I had known about it before I bought the Marathon.

  • Thanks so much Mrs. Corbin.  I am going to order one and give it a try!
  • The sunshine radian car seat is the most slender they make out there and the safest due to the 5 point harness.  I also had the sheriff install ours and he said this is the one he rec's to all if they can afford it.  I have a pathfinder and I can see it easily fit 3 car seats in my 2nd row.  Of course it will be tricky to get the middle child in, but it should work.  The only thing is that the sheriff said not to put the car seat in the middle rear facing because of the pull down hand rest which he says is a hazard if it falls.  Front facing no problem./

Our car seat tech told me she installed 3 radians in the back seat of an Accord, so I think they should work in most any large size sedan or SUV.
