    I know it's not the "right" way, but this works for me:  I upload my photo to tinypics and do whatever to it (resize, etc.)  Then instead of messing with the link / image code / all of that, I just right click and copy/paste straight from tinypic.  Unless I am the only one who can see it, it seems to work!  =)

    ETA - obviously you figured it out while I was typing.  Sorry!
