It's official....I have short phases. I have been ttc #2 for a year now with no success. This was my 6th cycle on 150 gonal f, trigger shot, projest shot, back to back IUI with no success.I spoke to the Dr office today and my results from my prog test yesterday are in....1.6 and I am bleeding again which ironically started right before I went to the Dr yesterday. They nurse said short luteal phases are what is causing this. I start spotting on CD 19/20 and usually have full blown AF by day 23/24. So, here we go again. It is strange though because last month my prog level was 32.1 and I still had a really short cycle 23 days. Has anyone been successful with this disorder? If so, what did you to for it to work? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
Re: Short Luteal Phase and Success stories?
I didn't chart pre-DD, so I have no idea how long my LPs were. I've been doing it since she was born. I've only had five postpartum cycles:
#1 - 5-day LP
#2 - anovulatory
#3 - pregnancy followed by early miscarriage
#4 - 8-day LP
#5 - current pregnancy
It's possible that the two short LP's that I had were because they were immediately following a pregnancy (one that went to term, one that didn't). But I did test with low progesterone with this pregnancy (15.3 at 6 DPO, 10 at 16 DPO), so I do suspect that there was something deeper going on with my body causing the short LPs.
At any rate, the good news is that despite the short LPs, I still managed to get pregnant twice out of five cycles, and this one seems to be sticking
The only thing I did "special" on this cycle was taking progesterone supplements starting after I got the 16 DPO results back. (My 6 DPO results were normal, so my midwife didn't start me on supplements at that time.)
